ADHD Awareness Month

What is ADHD?

Inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity are among the behavioural symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is one of several neurodiverse disorders, such as Asperger's, dyspraxia, dyslexia, and autism.

Untreated ADHD can make it challenging for a person to manage their energy levels, impulse control, and attention span. People with ADHD may receive a variety of treatments from practitioners, including medication, behaviour management techniques, and other strategies, including exercise. Practitioners of mental health may recommend physical activity in alongside medical or therapeutic treatments.

Exercise has been shown to be beneficial for youngsters with ADHD. Dopamine is produced more when you exercise, which can improve your focus and lessen ADHD symptoms such as hyperactivity. Likewise, everyone should have a hobby or interest outside of their everyday routines.
The majority of studies have found small to large positive effects of acute exercise on executive task performance in children with ADHD. In most studies, task performance following exercise was contrasts sharply with task performance following a physically and mentally inactive present experiment (e.g., watching a video).
In more recent times, athletes have spoken out about their experiences with ADHD, ADD, and similar conditions.

Simone Biles, Olympic gymnast, addressed her ADHD previously after hackers exposed her medical records.

She has earned the admiration of many since speaking out about her ADHD, especially those who have experienced stigma related to the condition. She has spoken out about her condition on Twitter and the treatments she has been using for her ADHD.🥰
